Adult Probation

The Adult Probation Division is responsible to take charge of all persons (17 years of age and over) ordered by the Court to be under some form of supervision. 

 

Adult Probation Programs

    • General Caseload Unit

       Monitors defendants that do not fall within a specialized unit but are

       sentenced to probation which requires strict adherence to specific conditions

       ordered by the Court.

    • Domestic Violence Unit

       Responsible for the monitoring and verification of adherence to court-       

       ordered conditions.

    • Drug Court

       This specialized court deals with drug/alcohol dependent or addicted     

       defendants.

    • DUI Court

       Driving Under the Influence is handled in a specialized traffic court that deals

       with first-time and repeat offenders.  Two viable education programs are

       available to aid defendants in understanding the impact of their actions.

    • Pre-Trial Services

       Provides pre-trial bond reports to the Court regarding the backgrounds of

       individuals being considered for release from the jail while pending trial.

    • Public Service Work

       PSW is an alternative sentencing option that requires defendents to perform 

       a set number of physical work hours at designated sites as a means of

       non-monetary restitution to the community.

    • Sex Offender Unit

       Intensive supervision of defendants that have been convicted of serious

       sex-related offenses.  The program couples intensive monitoring of the

       offender with intensive outpatient psychotherapy.

    • Mental Health Court

       Supervision of defendants that have been placed in the Therapeutic

       Intervention Program (TIP), an intensive mental health counseling-based

       program.
